Civic-data platform prototype · maintenance paused

Deputatnica

A Latvian civic-data website for browsing Saeima deputies, votes, parties, companies, public contracts, declarations, donations, and possible public-interest overlaps.

My work included the Next.js interface, typed database access and read models, Supabase migrations and RPC functions, Python ingestion jobs, scheduled workflows, and automated route and scraper checks.

02 · Developer-security tooling prototype · hosted engine paused

VibeShield

A prompt-policy tool that identifies relevant technical and security concerns in a coding request, selects matching rule packs, and returns a rewritten prompt or an explicit block/error result.

I built the rules compiler, semantic retrieve-and-rerank engine, HTTP gateway, MCP shim, and the Next.js account and workspace interface.

03 · Experimental local-first developer tool

MOVY

A local CLI and terminal interface for running bounded software tasks in isolated git worktrees, either individually or as a dependency-aware program.

I implemented spec validation, task scheduling, coding-runtime integration, verification and audit, recovery checkpoints, structured results, and the Ink TUI.

Archived private prototype

EchoSense

A user portal for submitting AI chat sessions for later review. The workflow supports authentication, URL-based extraction, draft recovery, user review, confirmation, and session history.

My work included the React application, Supabase auth and data adapters, asynchronous extraction job flow, and a separate Express/Playwright extraction service.

About

Full-stack and backend engineering

I’m a backend and full-stack software engineer relocating to Bologna for the University of Bologna AI MSc. I build data-heavy systems and developer tools from ingestion and service boundaries through to the interface.

Recent work includes civic-data infrastructure, security-oriented developer tooling, a local task runner, and an archived authenticated submission workflow. From September 2026, I am available for remote, part-time roles (20–24 hours/week) and scoped contract work alongside study.

How I work

Three practical principles for moving from an existing system or source to a shipped, verifiable change.

Understand the source and task

I start with the source material, the user action, and what the current code actually does. That keeps the scope tied to the behaviour the project needs.

Model boundaries and failure

I define data shapes, service responsibilities, permissions, validation, retries, and review steps before treating the happy path as complete.

Verify the complete path

I test the narrow logic and the route a user actually takes, then document deployment assumptions and remaining gaps so the next change starts from a reliable state.

Applied in recent work

Typed RPC boundaries and scraper checks in Deputatnica; invariant and HTTP tests in VibeShield; explicit result schemas and recovery states in MOVY; and authenticated job validation plus draft recovery in EchoSense.
